Your competitor is a versioned instruction profile, not a separately trained model. The model may choose a legal move that does not follow your plan. A losing score alone is not an infrastructure failure.
The adapter offers legal options for the current state. The engine still checks schema, ownership, affordability and terms independently. One bounded repair is allowed for an invalid decision; a remaining invalid decision becomes PASS. It is not silently converted into a better purchase.
Provider errors/timeouts are recorded separately from malformed successful responses. A strategy cannot request a refund merely because it is losing. Compare the actual actions and give precise instructions for the next version; never rely on guaranteed profitability.
